3 Months!

This happy boy is 3 months old today! At his 12 week check up last week, he was 15 lbs. (87%) and 25 in. (87%). Ben is a big boy!!
Some "firsts" for Ben's 3rd month:
  • Officially sleeping through the night - no waking up at all! Woo hoo!!

  • Dropped the 10:00 pm bottle - for some reason, this is huge. Ryan and I dreaded the 10:00 feeding and were so excited when he could make it from 8:00 pm to the morning.

  • first Valentine's day - meant nothing to him!

  • first laugh (sort of) - he'll give me a short "humph" when I'm acting completely crazy to get him to laugh but he hasn't all out belly laughed yet
Ben has found his hands and loves to have them in his mouth. He coos tons, usually at the fish on his bouncy seat. Kate makes his smile daily. (Mags doesn't give him enough attention to get a smile!) He continues to be a super easy baby. Such a sweet boy!

Early Birthday Present

Kate is one lucky little girl! For her early 5th birthday present, she got to go with Mimi and PopPop to Disney World. They were gone for 4 "sleeps" and Kate was thrilled. From the sound of it, everyone had a great time. The weather was super, it wasn't too crowded, and they accomplished most of what they wanted. What my mom and dad figured out about Kate is that she really doesn't care too much about the rides, but loves meeting the characters and watching the parades and fireworks.

Their weekend was full of character meals: dinner at Chef Mickey's, breakfast with the Princesses in Cinderella's Castle, and breakfast with Alice (in Wonderland) and Mary Poppins. They rode lots of rides: Small World, Snow White, Peter Pan, Soarin', Tower of Terror, Splash Mountain, and Thunder Mountain Railroad. And they watched about 5 parades, 2 of which included Tinkerbell flying down from the castle.

She had a blast and her favorite part changes everytime you ask her. Here are some of her answers: Small World, meeting Alice, riding Soarin', riding the boat to and from the hotel, and sleeping on the "couch bed."

Mags is already looking forward to her 5th birthday!

All About Maggie

We're down to only one diaper wearer in the family...that's right, Maggie is potty trained!! We started last Tuesday (what else were we to do with all this time cooped up in the house?!), and it was a rough start, really rough start. However, by Wednesday she was getting the hang of it and by Thursday she was telling us she needed to go. We're on Day 5 of no tee tee accidents but pooping is a whole other issue. Two of those accidents yesterday....just plain gross! So, I'm claiming potty trained because she will never wear diapers again but we still have a bit of work to do. Nevertheless, I'm super proud of her and she is so proud each time. It's funny because when she hears herself going, it's like she's surprised each time. And she usually follows up with "Yea Maggie! I knew I could do it!" I knew she could do it too...yea Maggie!:)

Snowed In

If you watch the national weather, you know the details of last week's snow storm. Lots and lots of snow on Tuesday and by Friday we were feeling pretty good about the digging out process, until we got another round of lots of snow. Schools have been cancelled since last Tuesday and they aren't going back tomorrow either. (On a side note, lucky for us that Kate goes to private school so we had school today!!) Bottom line, we had a lot of time on our hands last week. Together time! In the house, together time!! I told Ryan on Saturday that now that we've experienced that, I totally have a new appreciation for the movie "The Shining"...just kidding!:) Sadly, we are expected to get round 3 tomorrow night so we'll be pulling out all the stops to keep ourselves entertained. In the mean time, enjoy our "snowed in" pictures. Happy winter!

Snowflake making...used to make these in school
but sadly couldn't remember how. Thank
goodness for Google!

Finished product

Ready to go outside. Not sure
why Maggie looks like she's
about to punch someone?!

Eating lunch in our front window while watching
our neighbor dig his car out. You'd have to
know our neighbor to "get" why this was
entertainment...for 45 minutes! (He was
unsuccessful)

Ben moved around alot...on the Boppy

Doing tummy time

In the swing

Lots of time to play Barbies

Lots of time to watch movies

Snowballs being thrown at everyone...dogs not
excluded!

The girls were so proud, until Lucy tried to eat
the carrot and raisins and knocked the snowman
down!

Mickey's Magic Show

Maggie and I went with our friends, Terra and Kynlee, to Mickey's Magic Show on Sunday. Mags LOVES Mickey so I knew that she would be thrilled to go. She loved the show and loved all the characters that were part of the "magic."
With her Mickey binoculars - souvenir of choice!
Waiting patiently for the show to begin
Excited to see "Mick"
