Catch a Falling Star

Kate's dance class had their fall program for mommys and daddies to come watch and Kate was a super-star! She did a great job dancing and singing and loved her costume. Can't wait for the real recital in May...should be cute!

Fall Break

Fall break has come and gone. The girls and I were lazy on Thursday and Friday, staying home for most of the day because it was cold outside. We filled our time by playing, doing art, watching "The Fresh Beat Band" and "Strawberry Shortcake," and baking Halloween cupcakes.

Enjoying a yummy pancake breakfast!

The baker and her finished product

On Saturday night, we made a trip to Bartlesville for the Kiddie Park's Halloween Fest. Kate was super-duper excited to wear her costume and that was definitely the highlight for her! They had local merchants handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters and of course, the rides. Kate's said her favorite ride was the turtle ride with "Snow White" (you'll see in the video). It was a chilly night but both girls were great and had fun.

Back to normal life this week which is good because next week is going to be jam-packed full of Halloween fun!

State Fair Fun

It's that time of year again...the State Fair. We aren't going to Dallas for the State Fair of Texas this year so we headed out on Saturday evening to the Tulsa State Fair.

Ready for the fair!

Kate is a brave kid and loved riding the rides. Poor Maggie was going to ride a few rides with us, but there's a height requirement and she didn't make it. She was so patient to sit in her stroller and enjoy watching Kate ride and then of course we all indulged in the fried fair food.

We're barely peeking over the top of the wall.
Riding the dragon roller coaster

It was a nice cool evening, not a huge crowd (OU was playing), and we had a fun time. Can't wait for next year!

PS...Please excuse our picture quality and total lack of pictures. Our camera met its maker in the form of water and we're having to resort to using our iPhone camera. We're working on a replacement.

Disney on Ice

A few months ago, we had the opportunity to buy tickets to Disney on Ice. Two of my girlfriends and I decided that it would be a perfect daddy/daughter or son date night since the mommys have been fortunate enough to go to 2 or 3 of these events already. So we each bought two tickets for last Thursday night and waited a few months for the date to arrive.

In the meantime, Caroline's daddy (conveniently) had a week-long business trip planned for last week so Ryan was so nice to escort both Caroline and Kate to Disney on Ice. Becky and the kids and Dylan and Luke came over before the show to enjoy a pizza dinner and once the girls were dressed as their chosen princess, they were off to the show. When they got home at 9:45, they were definitely tired but they had a blast. Ryan said that they were perfect and behaved great for him. I think it was a fun date night, but Brent (Caroline's daddy) owes Ryan big time!:)

Dressed and ready to go!

I love this picture...mesmerized!
