It's the end of March for goodness sake!

We should not have been battling a snow storm on Saturday, but we were doing just that! It started coming down sometime during the early hours of Saturday and didn't let up until the evening hours, and it was snowing hard not just a light dusting! The even crazier part is that yesterday it was almost 60 degrees and today there is very little evidence that we even had snow on the ground just a short 48 hours ago! Strange weather!!

Kate was again so excited to get out there and play so she and Ryan bundled up and headed out after naps to throw snowballs at each other and build a snowman (although it was a half-hearted attempt on Kate's daddy's part!).
Maggie and I decided that we were better off inside where it was warm and dry!

Hopefully this will be the last time I post this season about snow, but who knows?!

7 months!

Miss Maggie is 7 months old! I'm so sad when I think that in 5 short months that we'll be celebrating her 1st birthday. But on the flip side, she gets better and better each month so there's always something fun to look forward to!

Big "firsts" for this month:
  • Yea, Maggie is sitting up completely unassisted and rarely falls over, unless big sister pushes her!

  • Mags enjoyed her first trip to Florida and even more importantly and fun, Disney World!

  • Maggie is a Diaper Dolphin at Miller Swim School. Yes, I know she won't learn to swim at this age, but Kate got to do it and why should Maggie get the short end just because she's 2nd?!

  • She has graduated into a convertible car-seat, of course still backward facing. This means that she grew out of her infant seat. This also means that when she falls asleep in the car it's a total bummer because I have to physically get her out of the seat versus just getting the whole seat out. But she loves that she sits up higher and can see her big sister to her left. I can see her in my rear view mirror and she is usually looking very adoringly at Kate and whatever she is doing to entertain at the moment!

Maggie is awesome! The only issue I have with her is that every Sunday morning I get complete anxiety because for some reason she cries the entire time she's in the church nursery. Miss Heather or Miss Kara usually have to come rescue her from her room and either take her to theirs or stroll her around. But maybe that's part of her master plan?! Otherwise, Maggie is truly a dream baby, drool and all!

Maybe next month we can post about a new tooth or maybe even more exciting...crawling! But on the other hand, I would rather it just be a new tooth. I'm enjoying this stage of her staying right where I've left her!:)

Another comparison shot...Maggie is the top picture (please notice the drool hanging from her chin!) and Kate is the bottom.

A fun vacation

Sorry we've been out of touch for a few weeks, but we just returned today from a 10 day vacation in Florida and Texas.

We started our fun trip on the 8th and flew into Orlando where we met up with Glammy, Papaw, Uncle Brett, and Cole for two jam-packed days at Disney World. It was Kate's first trip to Disney and she loved it! Her favorite part was "when Cinderella came out," and her least favorite part was "when the fireworks went pop, pop, pop!" She had a blast and Maggie even had some fun riding a few rides. After two days there, we drove over to West Palm where we stayed until Sunday at Glammy and Papaw's condo. It was so relaxing...at least the two hours in the afternoon during naps! No really, Kate loved swimming everyday and she even braved the ocean this year. The weather was better than perfect and we were so happy to be there versus being in Tulsa, where it was snowing!

This past Sunday we flew to Dallas. The girls and I stayed for a few extra days at Mimi and PopPop's house. It was also Kamryn's spring break and Kate was so happy to follow Kamryn around and love on him. We mostly just caught up on sleep and took it easy. We did go to a hibichi dinner where they cook on the table. Kate was not a huge fan! She liked the idea of it, but when the flames leapt up, she did not like it at all. Once the cooking show was over though, she enjoyed her chicken, shrimp, and fried rice. Mostly she just enjoyed sitting by Kamryn and talking his ear off!

I'll post pictures and video from our fun trip once I have a chance to get them loaded onto the computer. Just didn't want anyone to think that we'd given up on this blogging thing!:)
