One month has flown by!

Maggie's one month "birthday" was yesterday. It's hard to believe that she's been in our family for a month, although at 3 a.m. it seems like she's been with us for an eternity! She is getting so big and is more alert each day. She loves her big sister and is learning to love her dogs as well. She's still a great eater and sleeper and I would definitely call her an easy baby. Maggie has added alot of joy to our family.

These two pictures are of Maggie and Kate on their one month "birthdays." I put Maggie in the same outfit that Kate wore that day because I thought it would be fun to look at their similarities and differences. I think that they resemble each other, but they don't necessarily look alike, however everyone has a different opinion. You can judge for yourself!

Maggie is definitely chubbier than Kate was!!

Busy weekend

Our busy, fun weekend started on Friday night at an outdoor concert with our/Kate's friends. She had a blast dancing and playing with Caroline, Luke, and Ethan. Maggie also had a blast eating a bottle!

On Saturday after naps, we headed to the Riverparks West for Quik Trip's 50 Anniversary party. (It was a free party that QT threw in honor of their 50th anniversary.) They had a children's area with lots of different inflatables which Kate loved. Maggie had fun sleeping in her stroller!

Today was our first time as a family of four to get to church, and we made it on time! Maggie went to Sunday school with us, while Kate went to her Sunday school class. Maggie was great, however she did burp pretty loud during the lesson!

It was a great weekend, but we're worn out...I'm headed to bed!

Bedtime

Bedtime is a hectic time around here because when it is time for Kate to go to bed, it's time for Maggie to have a bottle. Daddy takes Kate duty while mommy handles Maggie. The best part, though, is when we're all finished and Kate wants to snuggle with Maggie in her big girl bed...they look so sweet!

Maggie is 3 weeks old!

Maggie had a check-up yesterday and she weighs 8 lb. 14 oz. and is 21 in. long. She is in the 50% in both categories. On a side note, her head circumference is also 50%, which is good because her daddy has a rather large head!

I've posted some pictures of both Maggie and Kate from the past few weeks...enjoy!

Maggie is awake!

It wasn't too often that we could get pictures or video of Maggie with her eyes open, but it's happening more and more frequently. 2 1/2 weeks into her life and she's still very sweet and calm. It's rare that she makes a peep, let alone cries. We are loving baby Maggie!

The true test begins!

Well, it's official...we are a family of four, all alone, without any help. Mom and dad left on Saturday after mom spent almost 3 weeks at our house. While that may sound like too long to some people, to me it wasn't long enough. It was so completely nice to not have to worry about much of anything for the past couple of weeks. She was such a help with both Kate and Maggie. Thanks mom for all of your help!

With that said, Ryan and I are on our own and it's already proving to be interesting. As soon as mom and dad left, Maggie needed a feeding, Ryan had work to do around the house, and Kate, of course, wanted mommy to hold her while I was feeding Maggie. After a few melt-downs, we figured it out, for now at least!

Kate and Maggie's new tricks

Well okay, Maggie doesn't really have any new tricks...but Kate does! She surprised us the other night when she was coloring by spelling her name! Luckily, Ryan was quick with the video and she performed on command. (All of the credit goes to her teachers because we have not worked on this together). She is such a smart girl, however, it definitely helps that her name only has 4 letters!

Maggie's "tricks" include sleeping, eating, and pooping. I did get a video of her with her eyes open, which is rare...I'll add it once I load it onto the computer. I took her to see Dr. Hughes last week for a routine exam and she was 21 inches long and weighed 7 lbs. 11 oz., almost back to her birth weight. He said she looks perfect, but I already knew that!

Kate's first day of school

Kate attends Mothers Day Out at our church, Asbury. Her teachers this year are Miss Connie and Miss Barb. We're a week into it and she's doing great. She actually naps on her napmap, much to her mommy's surprise and has a great time playing with her friends, old and new. PopPop and Mimi took her the first day because mommy and daddy were at the hospital meeting Maggie, and PopPop was great to take first day pictures.

Doesn't she look so cute? And she loves her new purple backpack and lunchbox!
